WHERE TO FIND US

The Perrotta farm holiday centre is on the slopes of Mount Etna, 700 m above sea level, in the Sant’Alfio area a stone’s throw away from its age-old chestnut tree, the “Casatgno dei Cento Cavalli”.

Case Perrotta is equidistant to the two excursion bases: Rifugio Sapienza and Piano Provenzana.
The farm estate,  in the Strada del Vino  (vine road)  itineraries and just grazes the Parco Naturale dell’Etna (Etna’s natural park) and faces the sea, affording striking views of the rock of Taormina, the port of Riposto and the gulf. If you turn your backs on the sea, you can enjoy the majestic view of Mount Etna and her craters on the other side

How to find us:
Drive along the Messina-Catania motorway, take the exit for Giarre and carry on up to Sant’Alfio. Once past the small town, heading towards Fornazzo, you will notice the small village that contains the farm on your right. There are signs for ‘Case Perrotta’ along the route from the motorway exit right up to Sant’Alfio.
An alternative route could be the panoramic strada provinciale (main road) from Zafferana to Linguaglossa that runs through some of Etna’s lovely landscapes. If you drive along it to Fornazzo, it then takes you down to Sant’Alfio. In this case, our farm holiday centre is also clearly signposted.
From Catania Airport ‘Fontanarossa’, we are 40 km away.
From Giarre/Riposto train station, we are 10 km away.
From the A18 Messina/Catania motorway tollbooths (exit at Giarre), we are 8 km away, heading towards Sant’Alfio.

How we welcome you
Case Perrotta is in a rather privileged location, being both ‘off the beaten track’ but easy to get to.
It is far enough away from the main towns to not have been affected by recent savage urban expansion. In fact the uncontaminated natural surroundings, the colours and scents of the countryside, and the sweeping views, make it an ideal destination for holidays or relaxation.
You can enjoy and make use of the wide, open spaces or walk along the estate’s paths, whatever the season.
You can observe our fruit production and learn about our seasonal care and cultivation.
Reception is in the ex Chiesa del Convento (former Convent Church) and is open from 9.00 to 13.00 and from 16.30 to 20.30. You can rely on a real Sicilian traditional welcome there and find information and suggestions on how best to make use of your stay. You can ask for other specific departure and arrival times, book your meals and anything else that will help make your stay a pleasant one.
The reception room (once the cellar), the different smaller rooms, the large gazebo, and the inner courtyard ‘Fico’ are all cosy habitats in which you can taste our cooking.
Our accommodation is provided in comfortably furnished en-suite rooms made out of the old farm buildings, where you can spend peaceful days and relaxing holidays.
We also offer the tourist cultural, artistic and recreational ideas.
Indeed we can provide information for both typical tourist itineraries, and for those places that are often excluded from traditional tours.
Organised excursions, painting, photography and craft exhibitions, and themed literary and culinary workshops are just some examples of our operation.
Along the estate’s paths, some old cellar tools and huge chestnut casks are on display to help the visitor understand some of the old wine-making methods, which have now been completely replaced by new knowledge and technology.
