VEGETARIAN, GLUTEN-FREE AND ALLERGY-FRIENDLY MENU
Our ‘formula’ is an ‘all-inclusive’, reservation required, menu from the hors d’oeuvres to dessert to the wine, created and bottled specially for us by a nearby Wine Company. For the more demanding customer, our Wine List includes a choice of Etna and Sicilian wine.
Since 1994 our mixed hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, made up of a large number of creative dishes and characterized by our famous ‘Case Perrotta fried cheeses’, follow each other out onto your table as soon as you have been seated.
You will be invited to choose from many first courses. Our soups, fresh pasta and stuffed pasta dishes, our risottos, and gnocchi stand out, along with many surprises. If you like, you can ask for three. These deliciously fragrant local dishes are served in ‘lemmi’ (basins) or ‘fangotti’ (large oval dishes) from Caltagirone.
These will be followed by our mixed grills of meat or vegetables, roast or stewed meats served in traditional ‘canali’ (roof tiles), which will allow you to discover and appreciate the ancient gastronomic architecture devised by our chef’s skillful hands.
Our ‘dolcetti’, ‘geli’ (jellies), ice-cream and semifreddi, made with the seasonal products from our orchard and our ‘rosoli’ (sweet liqueurs), bring a carefully thought-out meal to a fitting close, one that has the taste of memory.
The A-la-carte Menu completes our offer, with a variety of seasonal dishes, such as the SELECTION OF SICILIAN COLD CUTS AND CHEESE, Served with wine jelly, home-made jam or honey, the Donkey meat (Asina Ragusana) and the Wild Pork (Maialino nero dei Nebrodi).
Our menus are devised using basic ingredients that mainly come from Sicily and from our own Organic Farm. In this way we wish to guarantee the ‘typicality’ and ‘quality’ of cooking based on traditional flavours, a respect for the seasons, and those culinary traditions linked to annual festivals.
Ours is home cooking, totally ‘hand-made’: we do not use pre-packed, tinned or frozen products, glutamate or other additives but fresh basic foodstuffs from the surrounding area which guarantee flavour and are a reminder of the traditional Sicilian dishes.
Our recipes, many of which vary with the changing seasons, often make use of products from our vegetable garden or from our organic orchard, like: cherries, walnuts, apples, pears, apricots, plums, olives, oil, broccoli, cabbage, aubergines, onions and many more. We often make original and tasty jams or chutneys with them, too.
At CASE PERROTTA it is always possible to choose a Vegetarian Menu, from the hors d’oeuvres to dessert, created in the same way as mentioned above.
Great care is taken, wherever and whenever possible, in implementing the ‘Sicilian Slow Food Guidelines’, and those concerning Organic and Zero km, or rather in using those “products of the area that do not have to travel great distances before reaching your table”, so guaranteeing quality, freshness, taste and wholesomeness.
CASE PERROTTA guarantees the same quality and characteristics of its menu for those who are coeliacs or suffer from other food intolerances.
CASE PERROTTA also gives you the chance to make family events special (banquets for christenings, communions, confirmations, birthdays, degrees, golden wedding anniversaries…) in a lovely, traditional country setting, and relive an old custom that is unfortunately getting rarer and rarer: celebrating in the countryside, in wide green open spaces where convivial happiness is at home. You can also liven these or other events up with the entertainment we can offer.
Our meals are served in welcoming rooms both inside and outside, depending on the time of year, which you can see in our photo albums and on our pages concerning OUR RESTAURANT PREMISES.
